Thank you Calgary!
To the Members of Dîner en Blanc Calgary,
Thank you! Merci!
What a night! The second edition of Dîner en Blanc Calgary was the best experience to date and something we are very proud of. Held at the riverside Pumphouse Park on Thursday, September 4, 2014, over 2500 dined in this beautiful setting with favourable Calgary weather. A little cold for some, but memorable for all! As usual, the event managed to create a ripple of inspiration that cascaded over the City of Calgary via traditional and social media!
All told, it is you and the tremendous amount of effort put forth by each participant that made this experience so tremendous. From the sea of wild white outfits, to your homemade meals and desserts, special plating, creative tablescapes and incredible attitudes, you elevated the experience to new heights.
Our words fall short in describing just how thankful we are.
We hope your experience was fulfilling and magical, catapulting your enthusiasm forward to join our event next year. As we grow, it is your continued contribution that will keep the magic of Dîner en Blanc so special and unique.
As Hosts, we would also like to thank a number of others who co-created with us this year:
First and foremost, a true thank you to Damien Hubert of the Alliance Française de Calgary, our cultural and official language partner of Dîner en Blanc Calgary.
To Chef Michael Noble and the team from The Nash, who managed to make the task of catering seven hundred and fifty meals look so effortless - we had an incredible amount of fun producing the food experience with you and we look forward to the potential to partner again in years to come.
Thanks to the Calgary Opera for providing unique performances that transformed the evening. If you or your friends would like to see the coming opera performance, visit http://www.calgaryopera.com/ to find out more.
A special appreciation to Emily Barnett and Bart Habermiller for creating wonderful art installations at both the dinner and at LeDisco. The photography of attendees enjoying themselves around the art inspired many. Speaking of LeDisco, both Scott McTavish and Sabrina Miko at the Pumphouse Theatre need to be recognized for hosting an extraordinary after party – we are very thankful!
Thank you to Lorenzo DeCicco and the TELUS team, Tianna Stevenson at Nordstrom (opening Friday at Chinook Centre) and Heather Owen at RBC. Without all of your creativity, dedication and commitment as sponsors of Dîner en Blanc Calgary, we could never undertake such a massive feat of culture.
And finally to our Group and Table Leader and large volunteer team: a collection of the most amazing people. Thank you so very much. Your endless hours of volunteerism, gathering friends, communicating with your groups and preparing everyone to look so good - you make the event to come to life. More adventures to come in the years ahead.
